My indie/rock magazine entail ideas - Enrollment Work
My indie/rock magazine
ideas
The target audience for my magazine will be males and females
aged from 16-30. I have chosen this age range because similar magazines to my
genre, such as NME. I am not aiming it at
younger teenagers due to the fact my magazine will be sophisticated by
exploring the depths of musicians and music, and not just eye catching and
'fun'. My target audience will have a music taste that mainly consists of bands
such as arctic monkeys and imagine dragons.
There are
not many magazines that fit into the indie rock genre compared to the amount of
magazines that are available for the pop genre. My genre combines the genre of
indie music and rock music together to form one genre. This is what makes my
magazine unique from others and how it fills the gap of hybrid genre music
magazines in the market .I will represent my chosen genre by applying the
correct conventions to the visual style of my magazine. These include the
representation of the musician and the connotations portrayed. These will allow
me to make my magazine unique, but representing the genre correctly.
I am going to
make sure there is:
· A large image taking up the majority of the page
·
bold
text over the top of it so that it is clearly visible.
I will represent
my genre by having a specific focus on the musician that creates that genre of music. I have analysed other
magazines that are similar to the 'indie rock' genre, and I have gained a
perspective of how I can represent aspects of the genre just like these
magazines have done as well.
